How does it work?

Pandora FMS delivers software and services via an annual subscription, with no license charges, upgrade fees, additional maintenance fees, per-incident support costs or user access fees. Simply maintain one active subscription per each Pandora FMS setup to take advantage of all the value we provide.

Our subscription model is based on the number of "agents" and not on number of monitored items or monitored devices. A Pandora FMS agent is a container of information that usually contains information from a server, a network or a device such a switch (although it can take other forms).

An agent could be formed of 50 modules. Each of them represents an "ICMP Check (Ping)" on a different remote device. This means that a single agent can monitor 50 different devices or 1,000 devices if required; there is no limit to number of devices monitored by a single agent. If the monitoring of 1,000 network devices - IP Phones, for example - was required they could be organized by allocating all devices from the same floor or building to a single agent. This model would not require the purchase of subscriptions for 1,000 agents but only as many subscriptions as number of floors or buildings. One software agent must be installed for each server monitored locally. One agent will be created in Pandora for each server, as local agents must have a unique ID.
