STARTING POINT
Conferma is expanding its business model to offer corporate settlement solutions, while maintaining its status as a leading provider to the Travel and Expense sector.
Fundamental to Conferma’s core business is the Conferma Settlement Platform (PLC), its renowned business reconciliation and settlement engine.
The PLC inserts virtual card accounts that settle purchase orders under a simple, secure and controlled process.

PROJECT’S CHALLENGE
Conferma uses a multitude of database servers, firewalls, load stabilizers, hardware security modules, virtual platforms and web servers for production and to be able to offer its services on a global scale.
The initial requirements we asked of a monitoring tool were to assist with capacity planning for our platform.This quickly evolved once we saw the benefits of software with near real-time alerts.
WHY PANDORA FMS?
Conferma conducted extensive testing of various monitoring tools on different platforms, however, such is the flexibility of Pandora FMS that it became Conferma’s preferred choice of Network Operations Center (NOC) software for the production environment.

In addition, it allowed our business to monitor custom software and key database information, both of which are essential to the nature of our business.
We created dashboards that are designed to inform employees of the current performance metrics of the Conferma business platform. Again, this went beyond what we thought a monitoring tool could bring to our business.
The response from the dashboard has been incredibly positive and we are now contemplating more ways to display data using the Pandora FMS visual console. With them we have progressed to real-time automation of vital performance statistics.
PANDORA FMS BENEFITS
More recently, we have moved the concept from visual consoles to large televisions in the office. The idea behind this is to give visibility to key statistics in the office, in order to show how well the business is doing.
This involved displaying key statistics in a clear and simple way, which meant fewer graphs, but more graphically complete displays.
