Pandora FMS interface

Introduction

The web console may be accessed through a browser, either by IP address or public URL. You will be automatically redirected to /pandora_console/ directory to log in.

When you log in, the Web Console displays welcome messages and notifications by default, then shows the default home page. Both the user home page and the login wallpaper may be customized.

Pandora FMS home page

The default Pandora FMS home page displays basic and general information about the state of the systems and the amount and type of checks performed by Pandora FMS.

The elements that remain consistent across the different screens are:

Header elements:

  • Automatic screen refresh, disabled by default.
  • Notifications, indicating their amount.
  • Icon to open the welcome dialog.
  • System state icon.
  • Help with useful links and feedback option with the user.
  • Gear icon to access general settings, if the user has the rights to do so.
  • Link to “Edit my user”.
  • Button to log out.

Custom home page

In the Operation → Workspace → Edit my user → Home screen menu, you may choose Pandora FMS home screen. In the Other field, you may enter the URL that points to the Web Console to see the agent details:

Each user may edit their preferences, such as language, visual theme, auto-refresh views, etc.

Operation menu

The Operation menu allows you to see all the checks performed by Pandora FMS agents:

If the view has side filters, you may access them using the CRTL +f keyboard shortcut. This key combination may be changed in the general settings.

Management menu

The management menu allows you to see and configure the checks performed by Pandora FMS Agents, the Modules and components of those checks, the alerts that those modules and agents may trigger, and how those alerts work. Also:

Pandora FMS header offers several quick links, or shortcuts, to important system features. Each user, depending on their assigned rights, will be able to see more or fewer options in this section.

If there are pending system notifications, an alert icon with a message will be displayed when you click on it. These messages, like the Console's email notifications, redirect to the URL of the /etc/crontab file or to a public URL with the force option enabled. If you skip the configuration, it will use localhost by default as the URL.

Contextual help icon

When you hover the mouse over this icon, the Help text will be displayed to indicate that clicking on it will open a new window with the official documentation or, alternatively, a simple abbreviated text will appear. The full message may be read in a local dialog box by clicking on the icon.

Suggestion icon

The suggestion (or warning) icon opens a local window with important information for the user when clicked.

Management icon

The management icon appears in some rows in some tables and represents a direct link to the element's configuration.

Full screen icon

Present mainly in visual sections to display information in full screen mode, hiding the menus.

By clicking on this icon, you will returns to the normal screen display.

Wizard icon

It indicates that the feature will be used to easily apply an action to a large number of items by using a wizard.

Remote configuration icon

To remotely edit the configuration file of the EndPoints or Satellite server.

Icons for operations on elements

They appear on every listed item, generally to the right:

  • Copy.
  • Edit.
  • Configure.
  • Delete.
  • Validate (events, etc.).
  • Force refresh.
  • Stop or pause (agents, etc.).
  • Start the engine (agents, etc.).

Filter refresh icon

Once any filter parameter has been changed, click this icon to update the search.

States and possible values of Agents and Modules

Agents contain modules with the different checks they perform. Their statuses may be:

  • Correct: Green color.
  • Warning/notice: Yellow color.
  • Critical: Red color.
  • Unknown: Gray color.
  • Not initialized: Not displayed. It appears in blue only in the management view.

In some sections, an orange color will appear to indicate that an alarm was triggered.

Group view

It summarizes the state of a group of agents according to the color code in the previous section. In the cases of Warning and Critical, it is enough for one agent to have either of these two states for the group state to change accordingly; for the Unknown status, all agents should be in that state for the group status to change.

Auto Complete Agent Box

In several Pandora FMS sections, you may search for and select agents using a special text box.

The control starts working when you enter two or more characters.

Network interface table

This table displays information about the network interfaces of the devices to be monitored. It appears as an informative option for the nodes in network maps, among other features.
