We had a server break and did not get an alert because the monitor was set to alarm at certain thresholds but not at going into unknown status. I want to create an alert that fires if the monitor is unknown for an hour, is there a way to make that happen?

    Hello David,

Yes there is, you can create an alarm to trigger when the status is unknown.

For that you need to create a new Template and set the condition to be Unknown Status.

Then you need to calculate the interval of the Agent which contains the module that you want to be alerted.

If you have a 5 minutes interval in the Agent, you can set the Min number of alerts to 12, this will condition the alert to be met 12 times (12 x 5 minutes = 60 minutes) before it is triggered.

We’ll attach an example of the template configuration down below.

    Kind regards,

    Sergio B.

    Hello @Serber , I have the same question…

I create the alert like you show us. The alert identify when the status change to unknown normally. But the alert not return (recovered) when it’s normal.

I think that I need to create another alert to get the status “normal”. Is it the best way to do this?

    Thanks,

    Hello Giuseppe,

You need to activate the recovery option in the 3rd step of the Alert Configuration.

Once you activate the Recovery you will receive an Email once the module recovered the Normal Status.

    Kind regards,
