Who initiates the session? Agent or data server?
Hi All,
I have one quick question.. In Pandora FMS, does the Agent initiate the session to the data server or does the data server initiate the session to the agent? In my case all my agents are behind firewalls and the data server will not be able to contact the agent, but the agent will be able to contact the data server

Two cases here.
1) If you’re talking about physical agents (the one you have to go to the machine an install them). They’re the one sending the XML to the server. You’d not have problems
2) If you’re talking about logical or network agents (the ones you create in the webconsole and assign, for instance, an ICMP check or a port one), obviously is the server the one doing the checks. If you’re setting up for example a PING check, you gotta open the ICMP traffic between the server and the agents.
