using pandora from vmware image 2.0

    Hi,
start tryng test a remote test of a smtp postfix mail server.

I use the default module component “Check SMTP server” but i always fire alert.

So i look into MODULE COMPONENT MANAGEMENT and find TCP send and TCP recive black.

So i copy from http service (leaving port 25) TCP send and receive this:

    send: EHLO pandora2^M
    receive: 250-mail.”servername….”

    i also try

    send: (empty)
    receive:220 ESMTP Postfix

I test first and second solution with a telnet servername 25 from pandora machine and i receive normal answer but i think i wrong something in the component or in the alert module….

    Please help me.

    Thanks
    Marco

uhmm just see a thing…. monitors is ok, only alert firing, so i look raw data and see value 1.

Check alert setting and find min value and max value to 0.

Set it to 1 (min and max)… maybe this ?

You have to set the alert to: min 1 max 1

So you’ll get an alert fired whenever you get 0, it means, the service is down
