  • To draw a ring topology map

    Hi!

I need to draw a ring topology map in pandora to monitoring up or down events.

I’d like to draw this topology as a follow: if a switch of ring is down, than the figure – naturaly – will be red. And if the problem with the interface or the link was happenning the line between the neighbour switchs will be showing red.

How can i do it? In the configuration map i only had the parent option, but in my ring topology i had 2 switchs connected in other litle ring with the gateway. then i will need that one swtich had 2 parents. And when i put a line option, the line only is showing in black color.

    Thanks!

At this time only a parent could be done. You could create a map to represent all dependencies, and assign that map as parent for other element to implement “multiple” parents.

I was wondering if this was ever resolved?
I am also in a situation where an agent needs to have multiple parents on the same network. I am not particularly concerned with lines changing color depending on agent states.

How do I create lines on the network graph?

    Thank you.

Network graph are automatically draw, you cannot alter individual things, just change the way it’s displayed. If you want to make your own view, use the Visual Console.

Multiple parents are programmed to be available on 3.1 version, in 2010.

    I had the same problem.
seems like in the network map the hope is lost. (for open source version)

but you can use the visual console. make “host alive-module-routers”
and next to them you can add there interfaces. (with “dotmin” picture)
then connect your interfaces as you like the “real life” topology.

that way you can see your network links up/down as well your topology organized in front of your eyes.
    good luck.. =)
