Tentacle

I have set up a Pandora 1.3.1 server on Centos 5.1 for testing. I also installed the Tentacle server on that machine. The Pandora and Tentacle setups are very simple. No ssl no passwords etc.

A windows agent connects and supplies data using tentacle just fine.
I can’t seem to make the Linux agents work. If I run the Linux agent with debug enabled I generate the agent xml files. The data file seem to have collected appropriate data.

If I start the tentacle_server and log to the console I see the file transfer log entries. The data files are dropped into the data_in directory on the pandora server. The data files seem to be picked up (they go away). I don’t however see any data collected in the console. The interface shows agent down.

Where do I look?

First, be sure that you created the agent in the console with the same name that has in the pandora_agent.conf file.

Second, review the server logs to see if any error is shown.
