try to change the visual style

when i upgrade to v4 from 3.2.1 i have the same problem. i changed to another theme and works fine.

probably there are a problem with some themes that come from old versions

I managed to changed the theme and saved the changes but my console keeps displaying all screwed up…I tried couple of themes and although the changes were saved they didnt take effect.

Which Pandora version and build did you install?

Did you install the console (including the web interface installation) before pandora server?

I followed the instructions from their site and i installed the console and then the server version 4.02 in that order. a friend of mine suggested to install sun-java7 from oracle and it took me a while but i got it installed so and still didnt work so now im really lost and dont know in which way to go.

Pandora console works with php5, check if you have this packages installed:

php5 libapache2-mod-php5  php5-gd php5-mysql php-pear php5-snmp php-db php-gettext
php5-curl php5-xmlrpc php5-ldap

they were install, and i just checked them again, not sure what else to do, would java has anything to do with the way is displaying?

I want to thank the pandora community for all your support. A consultant from BBT technologies here at Selma Alabama, and had the same issue; however,  he experienced it on SuSe. He solved this issue by going to synaptic manager and uninstalling both the console and the server.  Then he installed the console first, remove the install.php file from /var/www/pandora_console and finished the installation from the web and the console came right up displaying like its supposed to. I can’t explain it. Then he installed the server and modified the pandora_server.conf file and finally he started the pandora service and tentacle service. Is there any explanation for this?

Hello;

The way is to install the console (making the whole proccessincluding the web  and the deletion from the install.php.

Then you can install pandora server.
