  • snmp Custom Value/OID

Posted by benni on July 10, 2009 at 08:46

    Hi,
I try to make a Custom Value/OID in Snmp Console Alert. How must it look like? Only with a OID String works. But I want only a specific SNMP Trap Alert.

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards

Maybe my question is not explicit enough. What I have to enter in “Custom Value/OID” field?
    Thanks for your response.

    Regards

    Hi,

You must enter exactly the OID of the trap that you hope recieved, it is the oid that the device will send to pandora if anything fail.

    Kind Regards.

    Hi,
thanks for your anwer, but that exactly have I tryed.
In the SNMP Console I see the trap with OID .13.6.1.4.1.789 and the Value .134.
I create a Alert with exactly the same OID with the Value. No Alert will send.

    Thanks

Of course the alert is not sending anything, since you set “Compound only”.
The alert is being fired (you can see the red status in your second post).
If you want the alert to be fired you have to define it as an “email alert”.

Sorry, nothing changed when I try it with eMail Alert Type.
With the Alert trigger only “OID” and the “.1.3.6.1.4.1.789” works perfectly, but I want an Alert only for a specific OID.

    Thanks
