Migrate from v6 to v7 on new server
Posted by IvicaGlavocic on July 25, 2024 at 10:47On current Pandora server is CentOS 6, Pandora FMS 6.0SP5 (P) 170120, mysql-server 5.1.73, Apache 2.2.15 with PHP 5.3
We would like to migrate Pandora FMS to new server, CentOS 8, Pandora FMS 7.0NG-777, mysql-server 8.0.36 and Apache 2.4.37 with PHP 8.2
What would be the migration procedure?
Thanks.

Hello,
First of all, CentOS 8, is not supported by PandoraFMS. You will need to install Rocky Linux 8 in this case, as it is the official supported version RHEL based OS.
Regarding the migration process you have the documentation for this:

Hi Sergio
Thanks for the answer, we are actually planning migration to Oracle Linux 8, is that OS supported?
As for migration procedure, I have read it before, but didn’t understand what exactly I have to do with the database https://pandorafms.com/manual/!current/en/documentation/pandorafms/installation/02_anexo_upgrade#major_update
With kind regards

Hello,
No, Oracle Linux is not supported, the only supported OS are:
Rocky Linux 8+
Alma Linux 8+
Ubuntu 22.04 and RHEL 8+Regarding the DB what you need to do is perform a dump of all data with no inserts, you have the command in a step by step guide in the Wiki.
Kind regards,
