  • Can’t get any snmp data from local server

I am monitoring 4 servers with Pandora FMS 3.0 RC1.

It’s running on Ubuntu Server, and the other three are running CentOS 5. All servers are fully up to date.

I’m getting snmp data without issue from all three remove (CentOS) boxes. I’m not getting any snmp data from the localhost, however. I can use snmpwalk and other commands to view snmp data via ssh on the box itself, but Pandora seems to be unable to query it for information.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? snmpd is set up the same way on all four boxes, so I would think using it via localhost would not have any issues that accessing it remotely doesn’t show.

Any info in the log of the server?

Nothing in the logs I can find–not even a record of it trying to get the SNMP data–but, then again, I’m not very sure what I’m looking for.

Which IP are you quering when doing the SNMP locally? It’s probably IP related problem. Try localhost.

I have tried localhost, 127.0.0.1, as well as the server’s hostname and public IP–I’m stumped on this one.

    Thanks for the suggestion, however!

That distro are you using in Pandora FMS server ?

Has the snmpget command available / installed ?
