Cannot have Pandora FMS server to work
Posted by Carlos on February 24, 2023 at 04:10I am following a school assignment, and I cannot get the server to work
I am using both w10 and 11 and neither works
I downloaded snmp
I downloaded the latest community version
Configured the localcommunity and added this server: 192.168.0.100
I checked that both SNMP and Pandora FMS Service are installed and running, they are, I go to the server in either Edge, Chrome or vivaldi and I get the server timed out with :
ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
I tried reinstalling everything and same thing, I even installed w10 from scratch in my laptop and it still does that
Created a rule in the firewall for this IP just in case and set it to always allow
No luck, and I have no Idea what to do, I followed my class video and the configuration video in the pandora channel and still cannot get into the server on my browser

Hello Carlos,
Can you please tell us which Linux system you used to install the Server on?
We can see only W10 and W11 but we are not sure if you are talking about the Agent in this case.
Bear in mind that PandoraFMS server cannot be installed in Windows only works on Linux.
Here’s a list of the Supported Operative Systems:
RedHat Enterprise (RHEL) 8 (Recommended)
Rocky Linux 8
RedHat Enterprise (RHEL) 7.X (only Enterprise)
CentOS 7.X
Ubuntu Server 22.04 (version 766 or posterior)Best regards,
Sergio B.

Hi Sergio
In this case the assignment instructions do not mention linux, they are as follows(Is a video, but it is in spanish, so I will put the steps they mention here in english)
Enable the SNMP Feature in windows
Add comunidadlocal as a community in the security options in SNMP in “services” and the ip 192.168.0.100
Download <b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: var(–bb-body-text-color);”>Pandora FMS 7.0 – NG 767 LTS HOPE
Set up the same IP in the configuration, 192.168.0.100 and once the installation finishes and pandora FMS service is seen in the “services” options, to go to a browser and access the IP, which is where I get stuck
IDK if you speak spanish or not, but I am adding the video even though it is from my university just in case

@Serber Thanks to your input I was able to create the server and it is running, I just created a centos7 vm in virtualbox, but I do have a question, is there any document that shows how to configure an agent in the windows machine to connect to that server? I tried pinging the server IP and it does not ping at all:

Sergio B.
