Web console does not remember login

I installed Pandora 3 web console by tutorial created for CentOS.

I’m having problems, whatever action I take, I get prompted again for login credentials.
I have changed session.auto_start to 1 in php.ini, but that does not seem to fix the issue.

PHP session cookie is present, but somehow not respected. PHP version is 5.2

$ uname -a
Linux pandora 2.6.24-24-xen #1 SMP Tue Aug 18 18:15:39 UTC 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Hm, think twice before you act. If anyone else encounters same problem, I was runing php cgi under different user than /var/lib/php/session had permissions.
