try using externals executables and post processing tools to compare older datas and news, after you can send changes to pandora and monitor theses changes.

another chance is send an inventory in xml to a custom agent to pandora and process information in the server.

specify if you want monitor changes in windows, and your ideas about that.

i’m using winaudit, with a post processing in linux with a custom script (to extract a few things), for do that u want, it’s only needed a diff tool.

Nope. Inventory mechanism of Pandora FMS 3.0 is not intended to detect changes. BUT we’re added a feature request to create a new moduletype who will detect changes on values, string or numerical. This could be used for that, but I’m not sure if this will come in 3.0 or in 3.1 version.

    This the request: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=2805816&group_id=155200&atid=794855

It will be implemented into 3.0 in a few weeks because we’ve found a easy way to do it. It will be useful to detect any kind of string change between current value and last value, raising a WARNING or CRITICAL status, and giving the user to link an alert to the WARNING/CRITICAL status.

It hasn’t been implemented yet, hence it is pretty tough to tell you how it works 🙂

I don’t know exactly when it will be done, but probably in a few weeks

We’re working on it. Trying to do some “easy” to use in the interface.
