  • Copy multiple alerts result in the same alert name (bug)?

Posted by daniels on January 20, 2009 at 05:38

    Hi everybody,

When I copied multiple alerts from agent A to agent B, the alerts appear in the agent B all with the same name. (ex: Alerts in agent A: cpu_idle, full_mem, full_disk. In agent B, all the alerts appear with the same name: cpu_idle, cpu_idle, cpu_idle).
I have the same pandora_agent.conf in both agents and the modules have all the same name…

Is this a bug? Am I doing something wrong?

    Hi guys,

I have the problem even when tried to copy one alert to multiple agents. All the alerts are coppied only to the first agent ant with the same name. The other agents don’t get any module copied to.

The screenshot bellow shows the alerts of source agent and the result in the target agent. The other targets get no alerts copied to.

An those are the alerts at Caronte agent. The other agents (cicarelli, delta, gamma, etc) have no alerts copied to…

Note that all the alerts have the same “name”

    Hi guys,

I tested this in the most recent branch version and still have the problem…

I saw a post in sourceforge about a similar problem here.

Anyone are able to confirm this? I tried again with the most recent branch version unsuccessfully…

Hi daniels, sorry, you’re right, it doesn’t work fine at the 2.0 version. I just tried it.

However trunk version is not stable enough to try it there, but we will try to fix it ASAP.

    Thanks very much.

    Thank you, Alorie.

As soon as the next stable version would be available, I’m going to put it in my production environment.

    Regards.

    Hi Guys,

Did you found any solution for this problem?

I have thousands of agents being monitored by pandora, and its so painful to add single alert for every single agent manually.

3.0 implements a very different way to work with alerts, give a try. It’s currently con development but pretty functional.
