Agent Keep Alive Alert

Hello,
Installed Pandora 2.0. I have a basic HP-UX node configuered with an Agent.

I have an alert assigned to the keep_alive_agent.

here is what is happening..

I have it configued to alert me when the agent fails. It will send me 1 alert and nothing after.

If I have it configued to alert me when the agent is running (0 instead of 1). I will get an alert every 5 minutes as configuered.

Why are the alerts not continuing to fire when the agent is down?

Keepalive only warns once. This is a very special behaviour, only used by Keepalive module.

At the sake of sounding like a fool. Why will it continue to alert when the agent is running but not when it’s down?

I understand the special behavior for the keepalive but it sounds like there is a bug if the keepalive will continue to alert when up and not down.

You’re right, It should not keep alerting.

We publish some fixes on 2.0 version about keepalive modules (not affecting to everyone), you should try to patch it. Take a look on FAQ about how to upgrade current version with latest code:
