  • IMM Monitoring (IBM/Lenovo) is not working by using Pandora FMS

Posted by isitavi on diciembre 2, 2020 at 11:27

Recently we are trying to monitor IMM module by using Pandora FMS. But its not working as expected. For monitoring IMM we already create a Primary Group called as HW-IMM. But for IMM monitoring there was a confusion in OS selection field, which type of OS need to select didn’t understand properly. We already tried by selecting OS such as Embedded, Mainframe, Other and Linux. But those aren’t work properly. As far we understand there was no problem in IMM SNMP Configuration in server side which one we are trying to monitor by Pandora FMS Server.

    Hello,

The OS detection section is purely informative, it does not change anything regarding the configuration of the modules, so the failure must originate elsewhere. What is not working properly? Revise the configuration of the agents and modules and send it to us so that we check it.

    Greetings
    Diego

    Hello Diego.M,
After doing few troubleshooting we are able to find those things, for your better understanding please see the attachments,

    Server IMM Configuration:

    Agent Configuration:

    SNMP Wizard:

    SNMP Wizard
When we perform SNMP Wizard execution it only shows 2 modules. But when we preform Monitoring -> Views -> SNMP Browser it will show different MIB’s like as so,

Please note that here we are  using SNMP version v.2 but in IMM modules there aren’t any available option like Enabling SNMPv2 Agent. But at the section of SNMP Wizard if we used SNMP version 2 or 2c then it didn’t return anything, only returns 2 modules when we use SNMP version 1.

    Hello.

Could you tell us which version of Pandora FMS you are using? The snmp browser has suffered many changes in the last versions, I recommend you to update to the latest version. As for what you mentioned about getting different data in the SNMP Wizard and in the SNMP Browser, this operation is correct because the SNMP Browser shows data from the interfaces too. If you want to monitor this data simply use the SNMP Interface Wizard that is right next to the SNMP Wizard.

    Greetings
    Diego
