  • configuring firewalls

    Hi everybody,

I’ll use pandora with a vpn between agents (windows) and the servers.
I need to give the firewall rules on each side of the tunnel to authorize traffic. rules will be quite hard to change after.

As i’m very new with pandora, i have some questions to ask !

As i can understand, the agent will contact the server on 41121 tcp port. Is this the only rule i have to authorize ?
I have read about udp_server_port, should i configure it from the beginning even if i do not use it ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Best regards

    Vincent

    Hello

In principle, for a simple pandora configuration, having port 41121 open should be more than enough. In case you want to use in the future other functionalities of Pandora FMS server as for example remote execution modules or WMI, maybe you need to open other ports, but it depends totally on the configuration you are going to do in the server.

Regarding the option that you mention of UDP, it comes disabled by default, and unless you want to make use of this functionality, you should not bother to configure it.

    Greetings
    Diego
