List of special days

Introduction

Pandora FMS allows defining lists of special days for holidays and vacations that may be used for configuring templates so that during those days, alerts may not be triggered (executed following an appropriate event) or perform as they would on any other day of the week.

That way, a template that would normally be triggered from Monday to Friday, may be configured so that on Saturday it performs as if it were Monday and therefore it maay be triggered on that day. You could also set Monday to work as a Sunday (or a vacation day) for the same template and therefore not to be triggered on that day.

Create a calendar of special days

Management → Alerts → List of special days menu.

As of version 759 of Pandora FMS it is possible to define different calendars of special days, which may be used in different alert templates.

By default there is a system calendar called Default which may only be modified and with the possibility of creating more calendars by means of the Create button.

For each calendar listed it will be possible to modify, add special days or delete (except for Default or as it may have been renamed) in the icons located in the options column. All of them may be exported in CSV format.

Create a special day

To define new special days in a calendar, option column, click on the icon :

A calendar will be displayed where each day also has its corresponding icon :

That way the date will be selected at once; another way to add a special day is by means of the Create button. In both cases the following data must be completed:

  • Date: The date of the special day. The format is YYYYY-MM-DD. To set the same day every year, you may use *-MM-DD.
  • Group: It will only take effect on alert templates that use this calendar and belong to this group or, if the All group is chosen, on all templates that use this calendar.
  • Same day of the week: The date in the Date section will be processed in the same way as this day of the week, no matter what day of the week it actually is. That is, if the date indicated is Sunday and it is marked to work as a Wednesday, each template using this calendar will process this special day as it would any other Wednesday, and may or may not be triggered depending on how it is configured in the template. In case the date is marked as a vacation, alerts using this calendar will not be able to be triggered on that day.

Once the fields have been completed, click Create to save.

When returning to the calendar, on special days you may click on the corresponding and a window will be displayed with the alert templates that will not be triggered on the indicated day with the configuration they have at that moment, i.e., templates that are marked to use this calendar and that by their configuration will not be triggered that day.

Mass create special days

Special days may also be created using an iCalendar file (file with extension .ics).

By checking the Overwrite option, the recorded special days that match those specified in the file will be deleted and replaced by the new special days.

Edit a special day

It is possible to edit the special days created in a calendar by clicking on the corresponding icon.

Once the changes have been made, click Update to save.

If when trying to save the changes it indicates that this special day already exists, delete it first and then add as new.

Delete a special day

To delete a special day, click on the trash can icon , located next to the special day within a calendar.
