SNMP Configuration setup - Gabriel M. - 12-13-2012

Is there any standard way to configure SNMP for the pandora server? is it necessary to be configure to work with the console and the servers that host the agents?

Re: SNMP Configuration setup - luismi - 12-17-2012

Hi Gabriel M.

Could you run this command from Pandora server command line:

snmpwalk -v 1 -c community ip_server

Replace community and ip_server by correct values and paste the output, please.

Regards.

Re: SNMP Configuration setup - luismi - 12-17-2012

Ok Gabriel M.

Could you attach a screenshot with SNMP module configuration in Pandora FMS web console, please?

Paste the output of that commands:

Code:
# cat /etc/pandora/pandora_server.conf | grep snmpget
# which snmpget

Regards.

Re: SNMP Configuration setup - Gabriel M. - 12-17-2012

Not sure what are u asking me, i know how to use the tools to and then select SNMP for a specific device and do you want me to do the cat command from my terminal?

Re: SNMP Configuration setup - Gabriel M. - 12-17-2012

This is the output of  cat /etc/pandora/pandora_server.conf | grep snmpget

Re: SNMP Configuration setup - Gabriel M. - 12-17-2012

Ok so i added few modules from via SNMP through the pandora console and they seem to have a little yellow warning sign and i also added one manually that is actually sending information, ( I have no idea what type of information) but when i added i did an snmp walk from that page and it gave me and OID and then i clicked create. Im really confuse now, does this means that is something wrong with the templates?

Re: SNMP Configuration setup - luismi - 12-18-2012

Hi,

Yellow warning icon means that the module is in not initialized status, because that module has never reported data yet. If you do a snmpwalk, and you choose one OID from list, it should report data.

You can test it from server command line, running this command:

# snmpget -v 1 -c ccapublic 192.168.1.12 OID

You have to replace OID by the  string which is returning not-initialized data. Paste the output here.

Regards.

Re: SNMP Configuration setup - Gabriel M. - 12-18-2012

thats my main issue when i do an snmpwalk to pick my OID i get no output to choose from the SNMP Explorer page

Re: SNMP Configuration setup - luismi - 12-18-2012

What version of Pandora FMS are you using? This seems to be a bug in an older version. Try to update to the last version.
