Roadmap for version 3.2

Our next version will be 3.2, and we have planned its launch on 15th September 2010. Features planned for this version will be the following:

Centralized script management in Agents

Enable centralized deployment Collections of files (scripts) for the agent. Allowing a more powerful and flexible monitoring, but completely centralized.

Agent improvements

This includes aspects such as command execution from the agents, in both Windows and Linux, and other features as scheduled execution of modules, to use the data from one module to another module, and other small additional improvements.

External authentication, from AD / LDAP / Radius / Integria / Babel / external Pandora

Pandora FMS will be able to use external servers to authenticate users. Different authentication schemes besides their own will be implemented. We plan to implement support for Active Directory, LDAP, Radius and Pandora's cousins: Babel Enterprise and Integria IMS.

SNMP Wizard for network devices

A new wizard enables SNMP monitoring more quickly and easily SNMP network devices, with a few clicks a 24 port switch will be fully monitored in detail, interface by interface.

Other small improvements

  • Recursive cascade protection.
  • UNKNOWN state may be associated with alerts and a state becomes "full."
  • SLA reports will have date/time filters.
  • Subgroups, allowing a much more complete hierarchical organization, including new graphical display modes.
  • Unix agent installation/setup in non-root enviroment.
  • Small addons for API and CLI.
  • Filtering SNMP traps on the server.
